After finising our filming in Tamok and Lyngen for this years HIKE project we were heading southwest towards the infamous Lofoten islands. Our dream was to get perfect snow and waves in the same day. Well, dreams dont always come true perfectly at the first try… By the way the water there is frigid (6 celsius) but the golfstream also brings a lot of wet and kind of warm rainy weather. During the drive to the lofoten the sun was shining but than we got stuck there in some bad weather for a few days. Here some impressions from that trip and a little clip we made about our  `snowboard and surf the same day´ mission…

On our mission for this years HIKE filmproject in northern Norway we went out for a long day to explore a big bowl. This day Miikka Haast was joining us who has been looking at  a cauliflower couloir he wanted to to hike and ride since a few weeks. When checking out the couloir  we were not sure if we could get all way up to the ridge which would open a lot of options to ride the whole cauliflower face. when we finally really made it up there  miikka sticked to ride the couloir but i changed my plan and decided to go for a line on the face instead. With all the roll-overs in it i was happy to have bibi on the other side of the valley having an eye on me and  assisting me over the radio to navigate my way  through the cauliflowers…

Our friend Ode Siivonen did show us this crazy couloir. The name `öksehögget´means something like the cut of an ax, you can see why… on a sunny afternoon we got the chance to hike up from the backside and ride it, here is a little movie on that project:
