Peru, hike through the high peaks of the andes

Sep 14, 2010 in summer news

I love mountains! i cant get tired of all the different shapes and variations specially when snow is involved! Crossing the Cordillera Blanca by hiking/camping around 70km for 4 days up and down between 2800m and 4800m  did give us a nice view on some of the amazing mountains here in the peruvian andes. Not much to say than it was a beautiful trip with a heavy backpack. I hope i got all of the peaks names right…

Peru from the misty coast to the sunny mountains

Sep 08, 2010 in summer news

After surfing the misty and cold coast of central Peru we arrived in the sunny mountains of the Cordillera Blanca. Big bummer and little frustrating for us: after the shipping company that has our big snowbag back in Innsbruck ready to go and filled with everything we would need for our snow adventure here,  doesnt get the go from peruvian customs, we are left here in this breathtaking  surrounding of the Cordillera Blanca in the peruvian Andes with not more than our beach-camping stuff and our surfboards. Nevertheless we will  try to borrow what we need to survive a several day trip into the mountains to get at least out there. We will not get to climb and ride any of the up to 6800m high peaks but at least we will  get up to around 5000m and have a closer look to the white beauties.
