From the beginning: Finally a nice morning, at this time everybody thought the face is loaded with fresh snow, but after the forerunner martin winkler came down the face it turned out that the conditions were tricky. The steep parts didnt hold the fresh snow of the last days and turned into an icy slope, the flatter parts were filled with the powder.

Chamonix Freeride Worldtour stop 1

To be part of a  freeride worldtour competition in chamonix, the freeride, off piste, alpine mekka of the alps and of the world is most probably what it is for the surfing community  to surf at a world tour stop on oahu, hawaii.

The mountains around are spectacular big and if i have the chance i always go and take the cable car up the aiguille du midi and do a run down the famous valle blanche.
