Verbier Xtreme09

I was happy to be part of the verbier xtreme on the famous and mythical bec de rosses for the 7th time. Although verbier had a good winter this season we had to deal with probably the most difficult conditions ever in the face. the problem were the strong winds that had hit the 3222m high north face really hard and made the snowpack a mix of windblown and pockets of sugar snow. i would call it xtreme conditions for the xtreme comp.

For me this comp is the challange to find the suitable line for the existing conditions and ones aibility and to share this challange with all the other riders. The game is starting on day one with face inspection, continuing the the waiting period where you cant stop thinking about your options and your choice.

hiking up to the top

With the hike up to the peak you are hiking towards the highest intensity of tension before you drop in and you are all of a sudden just into riding and no more into thinking.
